Yesterday i was sitting around my friends pool when i saw a dragonfly flittering around, i thought i saw two at one stage. The dragonfly got my attention in between conversation by bending his? body so as his? end of tail was pointing at me. I then noticed another dragonfly in the pool. We skimmed it out the water and placed it on the ground. It began to wipe its eyes and flutter its wings to dry, i noticed the right back wing was a little dropped, i thought it just heavy with water but on closer inspection i realised the wing was torn. I worried that i had damaged it by helping it out the water but thought maybe that was why it fell in the water, the other dragonfly may have been a bit rough with it? The other dragon fly kept flying around, maybe looking for it for whatever reason.Anyway after some while it flew away but was very wobbly on it’s course. I ask what symbolism you pick up on all this for me, it had me feeling there was a message enough to go searching on the net. x

Usually your animal totem will continue coming to you until you take heed to what it is trying to tell you. Time for change? Is there something in your life that is not going right, not working suddenly, or something in your life you are not satisfied with such as job, relationship, family, residence, etc. Take time to reflect. When you see the dragon fly take time to sit quietly, ask what it is the dragon fly is trying to tell you, and then just sit and quietly wait for the answer to come to you. Look for other symbols as well or dreams.

Hi! I have always loved dragonflies and when I was 34 I got a tattoo of a very pretty dragonfly on right leg, below my knee. The colors are purple and blue. I have a dragonfly hanging on my rearview mirror and I have other dragonfly items at home. Back in August I started getting this little pretty red dragonfly that comes to my house, a few time a week. I would swear it’s the same dragonfly. The first time I noticed it, it was sitting on my shepards hook right outside my picture window. I walked up to the window and looked at it and it just sat there for the longest time. When I would go into the kitchen, it would fly to the doorwall and sit there on the step right outside the doorwall. Sometimes I will go into my bedroom and it’s sitting right outside on the window ledge. I went on vacation in August for 2 weeks and came back and that week, the same dragonfly (I think it’s the same one beucase it’s the same color and does the same thing) appeared. I even told my boyfriend that I think that dragonfly comes to visit me during the week. I have actually talked to it. I’m wondering what the dragonfly means??? Any idea? I have not seen it in a a couple weeks but it has been starting to get in the 50’s here. It’s just so funny that it sits where it knows I can see it and makes sure that whatever room I’m in, I can see it from the window. I’m thinking it has to mean somthing since it comes to visit me often.

I just found your website about dragonflies because I was highly motivated to research their meaning. What triggered this is that when I got home today I saw this huge dragonfly like 3-4 inches long! on my door and from a distance as I approached it started flying all over and I was so scared of it and this happened like 3 three times it was as if it didn’t even want me to enter my own home LOL. I had to instead enter through my garage door.

Then later like an hour when I tried to leave it was still outside the entrance by the wall this time and I tried to let it move by spraying some water but it started flying towards me and I closed the door fast! and heard it knocking all over the door then it perched on the wall again!I had to leave through my garage instead. I’m hoping it’s not outside later today because I’m going to freak out!HA! I’m wondering what it could mean?

Well absolutely someone is trying to tell you something…well dont think of bad news coming as bad. Actually you are being given a heads up about something to try and prepare you. That in its self is positive. I was given a heads up about Michael Jackson and Ted Kennedy…but I choose to see it as a positive because since I was warned that something was coming that had the potential to it me hard I was able to hold my light and vibration when the time came and NOT sink into a low vibration state due which would have happened if I would have let my emotions go out of control.

Don’t worry…you can handle whatever it is…I assure you that you have that strength!

I found a large dead dragonfly outside my front door a few days ago. The grounds keepers swept that day, and swept it away. IThe next day, there the same dead dragonfly (or one exactly like it) was. A day later, I found a small dead dragonfly lying by my gearshift in my car and I picked it up and let it go outside. Later that night, I found what seemed to be the very same dragonfly (dead) on my gearshift. I know what you have said about the meaning of dead dragonflies, and I really don’t want to bring bad luck into my space by believing it means something sad and scary. I was wondering if perhaps it could be someone who has attached to me during mine and my husband’s ghost hunting trips. We like to go to places such as cemetaries, abandoned buildings, etc., on ghost hunting expeditions and we take our recording devices. We have actually picked up voices and otherworldy sounds. Is it possible somebody is trying to tell me something?

Oh I’m sorry…I actually typed out a reply explaining and now it’s no where to be found. Which is interesting considering what my reply was. Yes, I actually remember very well cause it stood out to me so much what you were being told.

It seem that what you needed to see was the colors in addition to the symbolism of the dragonfly. In Brown-gold it is about spiritual rewards…which can be seen as letting you know that your words where heard. The blue-purple dragonfly represents your guide and the message is follow me…your prayers where heard and if you will continue to have your eyes open and keep on being optimistic you will receive the guidance you need.

Hi Sherry,
I did exactly what you told me to do. Last week I went back to my backyard to pray and talk to God again. I saw a dragonfly flying around and I asked it to come and show me what to do and teach me. After saying those words, it took off. Now this morning, I went back to my backyard pray and talk to God as me and my husband had a terrible night because the bank sent a wrecker repo his car at 4:00 AM. So this morning I just thought about expressing my gratitude to God because we at least still have my car that he can use to go to work even though mine is behind in payments as well. As I was praying, I saw two brown-gold dragonflies flying all around me. When I was done praying, as I started walking back to the house, I heard the noise of an insect wings clap against the grass. When I looked down, I saw the most beautiful dragonfly I have ever seen. It was blue, with purple reflections. I looked at it said: “dear dragonfly, please show me what I should do next” then, it flew up and flew off. This whole thing brought a smile on my face. What does it mean Sherry?
